A special fight from Israel carrying scientists and are heading to India to help and finalise the four advance covid related technologies which can detect the presence of SARS-Cov2 pathogen which causes Coronavirus. These includes two Covid-19 tests which can be done using saliva sample and gives results in minutes. The third test could tell if a person has inital Covid just by listening to their Voice. And, the fourth test includes a virus detector that uses radio waves on a breath sample.
The Israelis will work at AIIMS, Delhi. Israeli’s ambassador, Ron Malkin said, ” The first phase of testing of these technologies was done in Israel. The last stage will now be carried out in India “.
If this happens, that means one can be tested and get the result at the exact moment. No need to wait for the lab reports.
An inexpensive biochemical test which can be done at home and gives you result in just 30 minutes. The only thing that will be needed is saliva sample.
The third technology is performed with the help of AI (artificial intelligence). AI will listen to your voice and detect if you are on the first stage of Covid. “It plays on the fact Covid attacks the respiratory system. One could even do the diagnosis through a cell phone,” said Gold.
The fourth method is a breath analyzer. One will breathe into some tube, and then tube will be put into machine and will give us the result if the person have Virus by using terahertz radio frequencies and an algorithm.
The project is led by Gold and K VijayRaghavan, principal scientific advisor to Prime Minister Modi. The funding, cooperation, logistics and results are mutual, said Malkin.
The Israeli as well as Indian scientists will conduct around 4000-5000 tests of each technology to check if they can work. Indian scientists will also donating their helping hand on the algorithm part.
Gold said, “India is an AI (artificial intelligence)) superpower. With these tests, hopefully we will be able to mature the technology and deploy it across the board.”
Along with these technologies, they will also bring advanced technologies and equipment to help India, including robots, telemedicine, special sanitising equipment etc.
India had offered help in the early pandemic days for evacuating thousands of Israelis and providing medical supplies. Malkin said that the operation is a part of their strong bilateral friendship.
Gold also mentioned that the Israeli team would be in India for about a week and a half.
Malkin said, “The two countries have had long-standing defence relations. Relations have grown rapidly across many sectors, ranging from agriculture to defence, and now health.”
